For more than a decade, Brooklyn Bridge Park has connected students, families, and visitors to the waterfront through exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning.
The new Education Center will build on that foundation, welcoming more learners and expanding free opportunities to explore the history, ecology, and future of Brooklyn’s waterfront.

Why Now?
Every young person should have the chance to learn from the natural world, but many New York City schools have limited resources for field trips and hands-on enrichment.
The new Education Center creates an opportunity to reach more of them. At four times the size of the current facility, it will allow Brooklyn Bridge Park to serve nearly 70% more students, families, and visitors while continuing to offer free programs to Title I schools.
More space means more opportunities for young people to explore the waterfront as a living classroom.

Three flexible classrooms for school and public programs
More than 1,500 square feet of interactive exhibits
A larger exhibition gallery with bilingual displays
Dedicated spaces for families and community programs
New ways to connect indoor learning with exploration throughout the Park
